2022 February 9

• Car manufacturers Ford and Toyota were impacted by parts shortages due to the blockade. Ford closed their plant for the day, for the next day to operate at reduced capacity, and Toyota idled three of their factories.[14]
• In Manitoba, a 74-year-old male was stuck in one of the demonstration convoys on Highway 3, attempting to drive his 82-year-old sister to the hospital for urgent medical care. [15]

• Non-convoy event: A truck carrying 2,000 firearms stolen in Peterborough. [20] Although the firearms were later recovered, it lead to conspiracy theories that the stolen weapons would be planted on convoyists in Ottawa. [21][22]

• Overnight, a rumor spread about a woman trampled to death, sourced to Sara Carter (a Fox News reporter).[32] This was claim was retracted.[33]

  • The next day, it was revealed that Jason Kenney asked the federal government for help while claiming the province had resources to deal with the disruption. [35][36]
• Price crash for the Freedom Convoy Token crypto-currency, where it only held value in the hype phase. [37]

• Convoy protesters leave encampment near Arnprior [44]. The plan is to protest on Highways 401 and 402 as part of a Cross-Canada "Freedom chain".[45]

• Convoyists return to Parliament hill for a second wave of protests. [46][47] Quite small compared to something planned as a coast-to-coast human chain.[48]

• Canadian National Security Advisor says the Emergencies act was justified to regain control of Ottawa and the convoy organizers "no doubt – came to overthrow the government.” [52]

• The ‘Freedom Convoy’ Bitcoin Donations Have Been Frozen and Seized. [53] The class action lawsuit wants to give all donated bitcoins to Ottawa citizens who were in the vicinity of the protests.

2022 March 21

• The People's Convoy gets held up by a single bicyclist.[54]
• The People's Convoy seems to be getting a bad cough going around, which feels as if they were hit by a bus. [55]

2022 March 24

• Some European MPs blast Trudeau for COVID 'rights violation'. [56] These MPs tended to be far right, including Christine Anderson who entered a complaint to the special committee on the Covid-19 pandemic that there was too much emphasis upon getting vaccines into healthy people.

• An individual was arrested for breaching his release conditions, including not to be found in the downtown area of Ottawa. [57]
• The organizer for Rolling Thunder is trying to distance himself from Chris Sky, even though they're sharing the protest. [58]

• Scheduled arrival of the Rolling Thunder protest. [59] This group shares roots with the Freedom Convoy, [60], and remains just as unpopular.[61]
• Some vehicles either attempted another occupation or entered the exclusion zone. Police responded quickly, and towed away offending vehicles. [62]
