Children
Children are young people, who can make a powerful influence in a protest by showing or pretending that it is peaceful.
Children were put on the front line of the blockade, such as being used to form a human chain. [1][2]
Some were used either to transport fuel in jerrycans, or to act as decoys. [3]
Some children prefer not to hear honking. [4]
In case of the convoy, they were present to complicate the police response. [5]
Bringing children to a long term protest needs things to distract them, such as a bouncy castle, and inflated minions. Minions are villainous protagonist's team in Despicable Me, known for being mischievous and sometimes incompetent.
When the blockade in Ottawa was being cleared, some of the protestors were putting children in front of the police operations.[6]
