People's Convoy

The People's Convoy is a copycat group, originating an California and attempting to a similar protest at Washington DC. Again, they protest mandates that are largely removed, but this time there were much less organized.[1]

On March 6, they arrived near Washington DC, driving slow laps on the Beltway surrounding the city. The only result was slowing traffic rather than bringing it to a standstill.

This convoy preferred taking law into their own hands, such as boxing in commuters [2][3] or assaulting other commuters.[4] When they ended up peeing themselves in traffic, their thought is to also perform a citizen's arrests of officials.[5]

On March 16, they were denied a permit to camp at the National Mall. [6]

Some members of the convoy are obsessed with honking that they don't pay attention to what's going on around them. [7]

They are mired down with antifa-paranoia, where practically everyone who isn't in the convoy is considered to be an anti-fascist. [8] [9]

As with the convoy occupations in Ottawa and other cities, they are unpopular with the residents. [10] They moan about being given the finger, as if they thought they would be popular.[11]

On March 21, they were held up by a single bicyclist.[12]
