Pat King was one of the instigators of the Freedom Convoy 2022.

He holds many controversial views as summarized in this video.

Activity

Pat King encouraged the convoyists to make as much noise as possible, laughing about how the residents were unable to sleep for 10 days. [1]

One day before his arrest, he was upset that the NDP was supporting the removal of the blockade, upset about the terrorism caused by NDP leader Jagmeet Singh (while conveniently omitting that he supported terrorist-type tactics of causing mischief in the city).

Interestingly, he states that every person who was born here in Canada is indigenous[2], but contradicted himself when he wanted Singh to return to his home country despite also being born in Canada.

Arrest

Pat King was arrested while live-streaming on February 18.

Another angle with audio of Pat King speaking with his lawyer.

On February 25, he was denied bail during the hearing. The crown was citing evidence of court conditions being breached by a purchase of a restricted firearm. [3] The denial of bail was due to his likelihood to reoffend, and dissatisfaction with his surety.[4]

He has expressed worry about catching COVID-19 in an overcrowded jail. [5] If only there was a vaccine against that disease...

He claims to be applying for a bail review as the circumstances behind the case have changed, along with grifting for more lawyer fees. [6]
