Mark Strahl
Mark Strahl is the Conservative MP for Chilliwack—Hope.
He reported on his twitter feed about Briane, a single mom from Chilliwack working minimum wage, and had her bank account frozen due to a single donation to the convoy when it was legal.
This type of appeal is generally used to show that poor people can be disrupted by having their assets frozen, but is also something that handled by a safety net (such as welfare, or local charitable organizations.) The claim became questionable when the leaked list of donors was reviewed showing no person by that name - while the name could have been masked to protect the woman's identity, the RCMP made a press release stating that only those who were actively participating in the protests had their financial accounts frozen.[1]
