Violence is the anathema to peaceful protests. Despite claims of being a simple protest or a peaceful protest, members of the convoy were unable to resist the temptation to be violent when they felt there were no consequences.
Later protests were much less violent, only due to them not wanting to provide evidence after the initial occupation.
